Hoosier North Falls to the Guys from Down South:Greensboro Colts now 4-0 with Eight-Nothing Win…

The Greensboro Colts continued their unbeaten streak going 4-0 with their 8-zip shutout win over Hoosier North on Monday night at Lafayette, Indiana. The Colts won big and all 18 players got in the game as coach Alan Ashkinazy cleared his bench and again got everyone involved in the victory.

Frankie Johnson(Dudley) picked up the win on the hill and Caleb Shelton(Western Guilford) along with Blaine McCraw(Southwest Guilford) all contributed to the Greensboro Colt’s success in the pitching department. An 8-0 shutout, and Johnson, Shelton, and McCraw all shared the gem of a game.

Some said it wasn’t pretty but the Colts are now 4-0 and Jeff Medley(Southeast Guilford) went 2-3 at the plate and Cameron Cockman(Southeast Guilford) was 2-2 and the rest of the wealth was spread around by the Greensboro Colt hitters. Ashkinazy has put together a squad with players from Grimsley, Page, Dudley, SEG, SWG, NWG, WG, and High Point Wesleyan and all these young men are bonding to make a run at the Colt World Series title, a championship that has not belonged to a Greensboro team since 1965.

The Greensboro Colts(4-0) are now in the Championship round and will play the host team Lafayette, Indiana(3-1) tonight(Tuesday) at 7:30pm. In tonight’s other semifinal matchup Morgan Hills out of California(3-1) will face Tampa, Florida(3-1). Let’s hear it for the boys from down South coached by a guy from up North(New York). Alan Ashkinazy has done a super job with this Greensboro Colt club and it’s time to seal the deal and bring home the Title.
