High School Updates: Let’s Roll the Polls

It’s time again for the Lucky 13 run down and the Guilford Great Eight….Here we go with Week Number Two…….

LUCKY 13
#1) Thomasville (The Bulldogs keep on putting up the big numbers beating Gary Whitman’s Lexington Yellow Jackets 42-14 and T’ville is now 2-0 and ready to take on Elkin or any other team that shows up at their door)

#2) Grimsley (The Whirlies can move up to #1 if they can knock off Dudley this week and go to 3-0. Stewart, Shoffner, Moore, and Morris will need to have huge games for Grimsley to get it done)

#3) Dudley (The Panthers shut out Burlington Cummings and now prepare for their first “GAME” of the year and the Greensboro City Championship when they meet Grimsley. Perry, Lee, Blacknall, Bryant, and Ward will need to be at their best in order for Dudley to go to 3-0 at Jamieson Stadium)

#4) Eastern Randolph (ER is off to Super start behind their QB Scott Riddle and the Wildcats may be ready to roll through their 3-A conference until they meet the up and coming Southeast Guilford Falcons)

#5) Reidsville (The Rams are for real after knocking off a very tough Morehead squad 24-6)

#6) Glenn (The Bobcats are beating people like a drum destroying WS Reynolds 54-19 last Friday. Glenn may set to rule over Carver, Parkland, Andrews, and SWG)

#7) Burlington Williams (The Bulldogs put up 511 yards of total offense last week stopping Chapel Hill 41-21. QB Seth Adams threw for 4 TD’s and RB Tavaris Mack rushed for 155 yards and scored 2 TD’s )

#8) Western Alamance (The Warriors put 50 points on the board versus Southern Alamance and still have Williams and Cummings coming up soon on their schedule)

#9) Burlington Cummings (The Cavaliers fell hard after their loss to Dudley and they have games on the way against all of the area’s top teams. Will the Cavaliers survive to remain in the poll?)

#10) Northeast Guilford (NEG took care of Page 21-0 and might be on their way to a very productive season with Dudley and Western Alamance standing in the way and look out for Rockingham County)

#11) Southeast Guilford (The Falcons got 210 yards on the ground from RB Dion Bratcher and they whipped Eastern Guilford 41-15. This week it’s SEG and SWG in a South’s gonna do it again thriller)

#12) High Point Andrews (The Raiders are back after bringing Smith back down to earth 32-6 last Friday night)

#13) Southwest Guilford (The Cowboys got rocked up at Rockingham County 35-27 and now must do all they can to remain in the Lucky 13 Poll, and this week’s game with #11 SEG will tell the tale)

  1. Big win for Southwest Guilford and a bounce back after that loss up at Rockingham County. Southeast will fall hard and that loss will tell a lot about the Falcons’ chances against Ragsdale coming up in a few weeks. SWG over SEG will create several changes in both of the greensborosports.com polls….. Another Large win was Western Alamance beating Burlington Williams 45-38. WA may now be the best team in Alamance County……
