As of this Friday, the Greensboro Coliseum has 225 Season Ticket reservations. Not bad for NO Team or NO Ownership.

What is even more interesting is the recent purchase of the Trenton Titans by the New Jersey Devils. (story) This gives the Devils an AHL and ECHL team – making them effectively true FARM teams.

The ECHL of Greensboro best days had players who were regularly called up. As the league expanded, we started seeing more “Veterans” as well as players with wives and kids. You aren’t a development league when you teams have as many kids as teams players. Nothing against the guys playing here. they were great as were their wives and kids. But when you look at the farm system of many league baseball you see a profitable system.

When it comes down to it – it’s all about the PROFIT. If everyone isn’t making money, it can’t last.
