UNCG Loses Pair to Hokies in E. Guilford Benefit Double-Dip

UNCG’s men’s and women’s basketball teams suffered a pair of losses Wednesday night at the hands of the ACC’s Va. Tech  Hokies in Greensboro. The doubleheader, played at the Greensboro Coliseum, was staged in part as a fund raiser for Eastern Guilford’s athletic department and band. Eastern Guilford High School was destroyed by a major fire this past fall.

While attendance was modest, those who did make it out were treated to another solid performance by UNCG star, Kyle Hines, who poured in 21 points. Unfortunately for the Spartans, Hines was the lone bright spot, The Hokies, who are having one of their better seasons in recent memory, were just too strong for the G. Va. Tech lead by as many as 30 points at one point in the second half before claiming the 74-51 win.

In the women’s contest, Va. Tech held off the Lady Spartans for a 56-45 win.
