  1. I look forward to the new polls each week. The Grimsley boys and girls may be cold like the weather outside because from what I have been seeing they haven’t played in about 2 weeks. Dudley will need to get on a roll if they expect to repeat and I’m not sure about Greensboro Day yet. Is High Point Central really the number two 4-A team in the state? If the weather gets bad will the games this week be moved to Saturday or Sunday? I need some answers because I keep on calling the News and Record and all I get is a recording telling me to leave a message.

  2. Grimsley should be ready Friday. I was over there and saw them practicing on Wednesday. The weather should hold up and there shouldn’t be any postponements on Friday. High Point Central was ranked #2 in last week’s NCPreps.com 4-A Poll. I met with Johnny Thomas of Greensboro Day on Tuesday and I saw Bruce Woodall from GDS Wednesday and they seem ready to go for the repeat title. Dudley needs to provide some help for Josh Chavis at guard so he doesn’t have to do it all and the big men need to quit just watching Kenny Belton and join in on the fun. If anyone has any other questions I can get you some answers. I hope that Marlan Smith Sr. will post some more details about Grimsley because he has the inside track and we have a few High Point insiders out there too. We can get you the HS info at greensborosports.com.

  3. Andy, Northeast guilford is not ranked in the state 3A ranking. What will they have to do to get respect……beat Dudley again or what?

  4. I like it when we get more questions at the web site. It makes this section work like a call-in sports talk show which I did here locally for about 15 years. I went to http://www.ncpreps.com again and they had Dudley at #2 in the 3-A’s and Ragsdale at #10. Northeast Guilford was listed as others receiving votes. Dudley is #2 with 3 losses and Northeast didn’t get in and the Rams only have 2 losses, and they beat Dudley and Dudley has yet to beat NEG this season. I have seen Ragsdale play and not to spite the Tigers but I think Northeast has a better team and that is why I have the Rams ranked higher than Dudley and Ragsdale in my poll. Things may change but that’s the way I see it right now. It really ticks me off because the NCpreps people haven’t been around here watching our teams play and they are just going by name and so-called records only. If this was football Northeast would be ranked in the top 5 in the NCpreps poll because they(NEG) have an established name in Football. If NEG keeps it up they will get there and beating Dudley again and this time at Dudley would definitely turn some heads.
I don’t want to go on too long about this, but the teams down East can’t compare with our 3-A teams here locally. Remember it was Dudley vs. Northeast last year in the boys basketball regional final and they had to go all the way to Greenville, N.C. at ECU to finish it. That in and of itself says a lot about how far Northeast has come. The Rams have followed that up with a 15-2 record overall and 5-0 Triad 3-A so far in 2006/2007. I think the guys at NCpreps.com need to call the guy(me) at http://www.greensborosports.com.
Odell, I hope I was able to give you some closure.
