Resugent Quakers Roll Past W&L 95-77

On senior night in Reagan-Brown Field House on the historic Guilford College campus, Jordan Snipes led all scorers with 32 points to go with 10 rebounds and Ben Strong added 18 as the Quakers hit the twenty win plateau for the first time since 1979 as Guilford wore down visiting Washington & Lee 95-77. Guilford used 63% shooting in the first half, including a sensation 9-12 from three-point range as the Quakers rolled to a 50-37 halftime edge. The turning point in the contest came midway thru the first half when a 13-0 run turned a slim 26-25 advantage into a fourteen point working margin as the Quakers were never seriously threatened from this point forward.

A 7-0 run to start the second half allowed Guilford to claim their biggest lead at 57-37. However a barrage of three pointers by the Generals allowed W&L to get within eight on a couple of occasions but they could get no closer. Kirk Jones and Chris Halkitis both had six treys to keep the Generals within striking distance but on this night it was just too much Snipes and Strong for W&L to handle. With the win Guilford moved to 20-4 on the season as the Quakers will be the number two seed in the upcoming ODAC conference tournament.. W&L dropped to 11-12 overall, 6-11 in ODAC action.
