Southeast Guilford ran out to an early 5-0 lead and then held off Randleman on Tuesday to swipe the top spot in the conference. SEG defeated the Randleman Tigers 6-5 with Austin Moyer collecting the win and Mikey Childress picking up the save. Moyer threw well but had to leave the game in 6th inning with a sore arm. SEG goes 5-1 conference and 9-2 overall with the win and the Falcons got much needed help from Austin Moyer at the plate when he connected with a huge HR in the bottom of the first. Leftfielder Justin Venable and third baseman Jeff Medley also came up with key hits for SEG.
Ragsdale fell to Asheboro 3-2 and the loss sends the Tigers to 4-2 conference and 9-2 overall. Ragsdale sent Catlin Carter to hill Tuesday and we’ll have to wait and see who RHS will put on the mound Thursday when they host Southeast in a must-win situation over at Jamestown. From what I was hearing yesterday, SEG will go with Cameron Cockman. The Big Showdown is Thursday night at 7pm at Ragsdale.
Southwest Guilford ripped HP Andrews 14-2 and now the Cowboys are 11-0. Other winners included Dudley over NEG, NWG stopped Page, and Eastern slid past Reidsville.Â
