Around the Horn

Chris Coghlan and John Raynor played very well at the South Atlantic League All-Star game last night down in Rome, Georgia. Both Hoppers got hits and Coghlan drove in a run. Raynor scored a run and stole a basse.

Graham Taylor from the Hoppers pitching staff got the start and went 2 innings. The North team which the Hoppers represent earned the win so all is good in the South Atlantic League and especially with the Hoppers.

Former Hopper Brett Carroll got the start for the Florida Marlins last night in right field and went 1-3. It’s good to see Carroll up with the parent team and remember he was in Greensboro back in 2005. Jeremy Hermida also plays some in right for the Marlins and he was with Greensboro back in 2003 and he has been up with the Marlins for two seasons now and he is actually 2 years younger than Carroll.

Andruw Jones went 0-4 last night for the Atlanta Braves vs. Boston, and is now hitting .202 for the season.
