Greensboro Galaxy Girls go to 3-0

The Greensboro Galaxy girls AAU Basketball Team won their third game in a row at the Nationals in Kingsport, Tennessee. They were victorious against a very scrappy Blaze team from Philadelphia, Pa. The game was back and forth in the first half until the Galaxy went on a four point run to take a 22 to 16 lead at the half. The Galaxy team picked up its defensive intensity and took a double digit lead that they never relinquish. Desiree Drayton and Leandra Hicks both whom will attend Dudley Senoir High pounded the boards with 9 and 5 rebounds respectively to insure that there would be no second shots. Khadejah Wilkerson (Allen Middle) played and outstsnding game off the bench. She contributed 10 points, 5 rebounds and two block shots on 5 of 10 shooting. Brooklyn Davis whom will take her game to Smith Senoir High came in a played a very key role by dishing out 4 assist and 1 steal that help to turn the tide. Haley Newman ( Northwest) came back with another valuable key minutes by knocking down a 15 footer and ripped down 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Precious Tonkins (Grimsley) played excellent defense and hit a 20 footer that was crucial during the early stages of the game. Starting point guard Brittany Drew(Page) ran the offense and dished out 3 assist, 3 rebounds , 2 steals and contributed 4 points. Miranda Jenkins (Eastern Guilford) contributed 16 points, 8 assist , 6 rebounds, 1 block and hit her last six shots in a row before departing with the game well in hand at the 4 minute mark. Galaxy won 51 to 28. The Warriors head in to tomorrow’s game at 5:30
