National Amateur Baseball Federation(NABF) update:Saturday Insider

Rain, Rain, Rain, and more rain…The local teams in the 17U High School baseball wooden bat World Series had the day off on Thursday and the off-time was not requested. The teams assembled wanted to play but they couldn’t because of wet grounds at Grimsley HS and at Stoner-White Stadium.

The Greensboro Elks were scheduled to hit the field at Grimsley but no deal. Their game against Revolution Baseball out of Pennsylvania will have to wait until Friday. The TC Spirits from Kernersville were set to meet Beaver Creek, Ohio but that too was a no-go at Stoner-White.

Salisbury did knock off the kids from Rustburg, Virginia with the final coming in at 5-0 the North Carolina boys in front. Action continues at all venues today(Friday) and we hope that CB, Catrat, or Kearns Cheek will send us some of the updated information. The WORLD SERIES continues here through Sunday.

*****The Greensboro Elks Lodge and TC Spirits were both winners on Friday and the Elks enter Saturday play at 2-0, while the Spirits are 1-1. I saw and briefly spoke with the Ontario Blue Jays from Canada and they said they didn’t know where they were supposed to be playing but their bus driver said in a thick French Canadien accent, “We are going to Grimsley”. The Blue Jays were loading up on drinks at the Battleground BP.*****
