Ragsdale Tigers ready to roar

Tommy Norwood has his Ragsdale Tigers in good shape as the 2007 season approaches. Tyler Rankin and Jarvis Siler are gone but Coach Norwood has many people to choose from when it comes time to fill those holes.

Senior QB Matt Heavner returns and he is very talented. Ladarious Canty is the best athlete on the team and he will line up where the Tigers need him the most. Canty can play tailback and wide receiver. Eric Morrison will also help out in the offensive backfield.

Joey Finison and Cliff Willard will anchor the offensive line and TE Ian Jenkins is the hardest worker on the team. Nick Mearite is small but he is a game-changer and Nate Cash might be one of the smallest players on the team but could be the most important because he will handle all of the place-kicking duties. Cash is also the catcher on the baseball team.

Sophomore Desean Anderson is the Tiger QB of the future and this season he will probably set up out at wide receiver and take care of some of the punting responsibilities. The Tigers will be tough but can they stop Eastern Randolph and Southeast Guilford? The Mid-Piedmont conference is one of the toughest in the state and don’t count out Asheboro, they were the #1 team in the MPC in 2006.
