Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E

Hickory 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 1 0 2 4 0

Greensboro 0 0 0 1 0 3 0 2 X 6 14 1

WP: K. Winters (7-3, 3.92); LP: J. Hughes (7-9, 4.49)
HR: GBO: C. Hatcher (13), G. Burns (6).

Kyle Winters picked up the win and from here on out it will be important for Winters, Martinez, Hyle, and Cowley to come up big because Graham Taylor is GONE to Jupiter, Florida to join the Hammerheads.

The Grasshoppers hit the ball well pounding out 14 big hits with the HR’s by Hatcher and Burns the big blows and Brandon “Spike” McDougall’s two-run, two-out double in the 8th inning was a large boost to extend the lead from 4-2 to the 6-2 final.

Winters got some help on the hill with Joshua Roberts and Jay Buente both contributing one inning holds and then Blake Jones came on to close it out completely in the top of the ninth.

Solid win by the Hoppers after a one hour and thirty-five minute rain delay and now game two between the Hoppers and Crawdads will get under way tonight at 7pm on TrueDads night sponsored by SPIKE TV with the dads and sons getting the chance to play catch on the field from 6-6:30 just prior to the 7pm start.

As the folks out in Colorado and across the USA say, “Go Hoppers”.
