Kannapolis, NC The Kannapolis Intimidators put together a bittersweet victory against the Greensboro Grasshoppers Monday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

The Intimidators (32-31, 64-69) kept the hot bats going against the Grasshoppers (33-31, 71-63), winning 13-5. However, with the Columbus Catfish beating the Savannah Sand Gnats Monday, the Intimidators fading playoff hopes were officially dimmed.

Kannapolis banged out 16 hits off four Greensboro pitchers.
Right after Greensboro started off with two runs in the top of the first off Kannapolis starter Jake Rasner, the Intimidators got four runs in the bottom half, with the big blow coming on an Anderson Gomes three-run home run. It was the first of three Kannapolis home runs on the night.

Kannapolis has won eight of it’s last 10 games.

Kannapolis and Greensboro will face off again Tuesday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. Game time is set for 7:05 pm.

*****Hickory defeated Asheville 8-5 on Monday night and now the Crawdads stand at 37-26 in the second half. The Grasshoppers are 33-31 and now 4.5 games back of first-place Hickory with 6 games left to play.*****
