HOPPERS POISED TO BURST ALL-TIME ATTENDANCE RECORD

(Greensboro, NC) – For the third straight year, the Greensboro Grasshoppers will break the all-time attendance record for professional baseball in Greensboro. With only two games remaining this season, the current record of 427,890 is expected to fall during Thursday night’s game against the Kannapolis Intimidators.

With this newest attendance record, the Hoppers will become the only Low-A franchise in the history of Minor League Baseball to increase its attendance in its first three years in a new stadium. In 2005, First Horizon Park welcomed 407,724 fans and 427,890 in 2006.

“This team and facility have been embraced by the community in a way we could have only dreamed about,” said Grasshoppers President Donald Moore. “This achievement means a great deal to us and we again thank our fans, sponsors and the city of Greensboro for helping us reach this milestone.”

The Hoppers are back home for the final two games of the season beginning Thursday at 7pm against the Kannapolis Intimidators. For ticket information, please contact the Grasshoppers Box Office at 336.268.2255 or online at www.gsohoppers.com.

The Grasshoppers are the 2005 and 2006 recipients of the South Atlantic League’s Club Merit Award and General Manager of the Year.
