UFC Now Legal in NC

A week ago, I watched a UFC Fight with Cecil Carr and Andy Durham at J. Bulter’s on New Garden. It was on several of the television sets as was the NASCAR race in Bristol. I was amazed at the number of people actually watching and cheering as this boxing/martial arts fight took place.

Percy Walker, Greensboro’s “billionaire”, reports that North Carolina has lifted the ban on UFC-type fighting.

I doubt that North Carolina could every draw the celebrities seen on the PPV fight last Saturday. To have the really big fights and purses, you need the glitz. Don’t look for the big fights here anytime soon. We’ll probably get the “Best Bouncer” fights we once had before they were outlawed.

  1. I thought Cecil and Andy were great friends.
And now we hear they are fighting in the first legal UFC match in NC?
Oh, the mighty friendships of the world have fallen….
So who came out on top?

    😉

  2. I do want the rematch and I want it in the Greensboro Coliseum on Thanksgiving Night with Maria and Lillian Garcia from the WWE as special guest referees.
It would be a November to Remember…. We must have Mickie James as the
Celebrity Ringside Doctor in case one of the participants passes out.

  3. Ok, Andy I accept the rematch. I want you to hurt me but not to the point where I pass out. I want Mickie James to make me pass out. I heard that Torrie Wilson works part time in the ER at Moses Cone.
