  1. His records arn’t wrong.. They are just “Projected” its what he thinks based on his computer ratings and his predictions that are made based off the ratings. Take Page for instance, Page is projected to beat NW Guilford, and get 7 wins.. also 1 non-conference game is dropped. Thus making Page 7-3 in his projections. Also making S. Guilford 8-2, and so on with the other teams.

  2. I read a story about this Drew Pasteur fellow at the Raleigh News and Observer site and this guy is a numbers man. He is a Mathematics major and he is working toward his masters and doctorate in the field. He seems to know his stuff and it will be interesting to see how many of his projections come about. His addition by subtraction theory could take a wide turn or two depending on what happens this Friday night.

The West 4AA looks tough but you can never tell when you get this far into the season and the goal is to still to be practicing on Thanksgiving morning and with the early holiday, three or four of our local teams have a shot at it this year. The day after Thanksgiving would get you into round three of the playoffs.

Speaking of this Friday, Page-Northwest Guilford is very important and the same can be said for Southern Guilford at Eastern Guilford.

  3. GOOD INFO.ANDY-WEST,EAST,BIG AAAA, LITTLE AAAA, AND SO ON. SOMETIME IN DEC. IT WILL BE OK-MAY THE BETTER TEAMS WIN!!! ONCE “THEY” FIGURE OUT WHERE AND WHO THE TEAMS WILL PLAY. HOPEFULLY WE’LL BE THERE WITH A CHAMPION FROM GUILFORD COUNTY ON THE RADIO! JIMBO

  4. I think 4AA West bracket is going to be won by one of the Charlotte schools. All of those teams are very strong. Indy, Butler, West Charlotte, East Meck, West Meck, South Meck, and Hopewell. That side of the bracket is to be won by either Indy or West Charlotte. These 2 teams are just a different beast on the high school level. Here is a quote from a Charlotte Area Guru.

I think WC would blow team’s minds with the speed and quickness. They are big and aggressive also and have some talent. Coaching is good and they will go for the win/blowout from the get go. I spoke with a referee last week and he said Indy as usual is strong but noticed they were not as big as last year. I also noted they did not have the depth especially on the lines as in the past and he agreed. Not rotating as they have in the past on front. They are the favorite but I think they are vulnerable but have started playing much better as of late. This team reminds me alot of 2005 but that club did not have the competition this one will face.Richmond and especially Scotland have awesome defenses but they have not seen the type of players or offense or mindset they will see playing those teams. If Butler gets out of the gate quick on a team that is not accustomed to an athletic passing team Butler will put up huge points on the board. The defense has had issues and they have not really tried to establish the run until recently. They are a big ?. If East Meck could put 21 points on the board they could possibly make a run for the title. Ask Butler, Indy, and WC about the East defense. Big, skilled, fast, and aggressive. Problem is they would have trouble scoring. I could see RC and East playing at midfield all night hoping the other team made an offensive mistake.

I would like to think that Page and Grimsley could go deep into the playoffs, but looking at the 4AA West.. its kind of a hard pill to swallow to see that every round they will need to play mistake free, perfect football to win. The Charlotte area teams are that good. If Page and Grimsley were a little bit smaller (ADM wise) and got a 4A West bid, they could very well run the table and make it to the finals, because quite frankly that bracket looks very weak.

Oh yeah and also, Andy, the Page/Northwest Guilford game is important for Page, momentum and confidence wise.. But talking about playoffs, Page has already wrapped up the conference number 1 seed regarding playoffs. Even if Page did lose of Friday, they would still hold the 1 seed because they won the head-to-head battle against Grimsley. We still don’t want to lose either way.

  5. It’s going to vary dependng on need by the bracket makers at the NCHSAA.
It looks like on the way in that all of our schools will be going big at AA.
Metro could land Page, Grimsley, East Forsyth-High Point Central winner.
Triad 3-A Western Alamance(small 3-A), NEG, Dudley, WG
Mid-Piedmont 3-A Ragsdale, ER, SEG, Asheboro
North State 2-A Reidsville, SG, EG, West Stokes

Rusty Lee(Page AD) told me on Wednesday that Page wants to win BAD on Friday vs. NWG so they can go 5-0, unbeaten in conference.

  6. thanks for the info pagepirates44. the charlotte area schools are loaded but i look for grimsley as well as page to make great runs in the playoffs. Both teams have underrated defenses and can score quick. Last year grimsley played a loaded butler team in the second round and was leading 8-7 late in the 3rd quarter. Butler then pulled of a trick play and proceede to win 20-8. with that being said i think grimsley as well as page are both better this year and i wish both of the teams well

  7. Yea, Page wants to win! 5-0 we hope. Have you seen the new t-shirt that thanks to Andy says Where there is a WILL there is a way to win. Someone on the radio coined the phrase during the Page/Grimsley game.
