WingStreet Restaurant Opens

Why would we be taking about a new restaurant??? It just so happens that WingStreet is part of the Pizza Hut (YUM) chain – a new concept for the restaurant chain for this area. Pizza Hut is the title sponsor the the Little Four Basketball Tournament coming up this December – get the connection now!

James DeBose, Area Operator for Pizza Hut, invited Andy and I to drop by for lunch to check out the restaurant and Andy is working James for some give-aways for some up-coming web contests.

WingStreet / Pizza Hut is located is located in the Pyramids Village shopping center, off East Cone at US-29, in a newly constructed shopping center anchored by Wal-Mart. The physical address is 2101-104 Pyramids Village Blvd. Telephone 336-375-5778. They offer eat-in, carry out and delivery.

Now for the food… Make no mistake this is a Pizza Hut restaurant first and foremost. They have the same great pizza here as they do at the other Pizza Hut restaurants in the Guilford / Alamance county area. The Wings are the NEW experience – they are offered three different ways – Bone-In/Breaded, Traditional and Bone-Out/Breaded. They have a multitude of flavors from Burnin’ Hot, Medium, Mild, Cajun, Spicy BBQ, Garlic Parmesan, Spicy Asian, and Honey BBQ. They offer Curly Fries, Salads, Soups, and a good variety of appetizers.

I had the Burnin’ Hot Bone-Out Wings – they were HOTT! A good warm start that you finish with a lot of sweat tea! Andy had the medium Bone-Out Wings, he thought they were a little hot. James said the Mild Bone-Outs were hot enough for him. We finished off with WingStreet Nacho Taters – tator-tots with cheeses, bacon, tomatoes and jalapeños. TEN Wings were a MEAL, splitting the Nacho Tators, had us stuffed. We skipped dessert – even though they offered Cheesecake, Cinnamon Sticks and Cinnamon Apple Pie.

The restaurant is set up with several High Definition monitors. There is a bar area with beer, wine and frozen drinks. A front dining area looks out the restaurant windows and is bright and friendly. The rear dining area is a little quieter with a row of booths and tables.

Look forward to more about WingStreet as the Little Four gets closer. Pizza Hut will remain the title sponsor since most of the materials for the December Tournament have already been ordered. They will work WingStreet into the mix as time permits.

  1. Cool, I’ll have to stop by in there one time. Maybe us readers/ commenters, can all get a thing going were we can meet up at this new wing place and just talk sports and what not like once a month or something. Maybe the crew at Greensboro Sports and come along too or something. That’d be pretty cool..

  2. If Mr. D signs off on it, I’m in. I’m sure a Saturday night would be just the ticket for a little “live” sports talk. I know Don will be in as well. Thats a great idea 44.

  3. In many areas this is growing to be an over crowded market. How many wing places do we really need. Pizza hut is no small player, but I think they may find a tough road with this one.
