The sad part of this was the following quote from Senator Mitchell, “The players’ union was largely uncooperative for reasons that I thought were largely understandable.”

The sad fact that as long as the Owners and Union continue to disagree, there will never be a “clean” game.

One solution is to let them play as drugged up as they want as long as they sign away any rights they might have now and in the future for medical assistance. Then they can call it *Baseball*.
