The Eastern Guilford girls had much success at the pre-Christmas tournament. The Wildcats did quite well:
The Eastern Guilford girls finished third in the Mid Holiday Classic Tournament in Graham, North Carolina. They had the youngest team competing in the tournament. They beat 3A Opponents South Granville 48 to 35 and Eastern Alamance 59 to 39. They lost to a veteran ladem four senior starters and one junior who started last year that went to the State Final before losing. Graham team only loss two games last year and is undefeated 8 and 0 this year. Eastern loss in the semi-final 57 to 53; with the scored tied at 53 to 53 with 30 seconds left, Graham stole the ball and made two lay ups to seal the deal. Graham won the Championship game over Danville 66 to 52. All the girls played well and it should propel them going into next year conference play. Last year at this time they were 3 and 8. Now they stand 8 and 3 and should improve over last year 14 and 12 record.
