Southeast Guilford Falcons take two titles

Falcons Finish First

Southeast Guilford finished a sweep Monday in Wallburg, winning the girls and boys championships in the New Bridge Bank Holiday Classic.

In the girls final, Southeast Guilford got 16 points from Jazlyn Gibbs and held off North Davidson 59-46.

Haley Hackett and Amy Beasley added 11 points each for Southeast, which pulled out to a 30-18 halftime lead and maintained its lead throughout the second half.

Ashlei Clodfelter had 13 points and Allison Day scored 12 for North Davidson.

In the boys final, Southeast Guilford broke a 24-24 halftime tie to pull away for a 52-44 win against Central Davidson.

Southeast Guilford took the lead with a 9-4 run in the third quarter. Trey Artis scored six of his eight points during the run.

Isaac Jenkins led Southeast with 14 points.

    Also hats off to Coach Joe Stone and Coach Shawyn Newton – whatta’ homecoming (from Iraq) gift! Jaz Gibbs, Haley Hackett, and Leah Reddicks are seniors who have played together for 4 years.
