Tar Heel gets cut as Pack approaches

Roy Williams has got his head split open according to media throughout the state including the Winston-Salem Journal, The News and Observer, and The News and Record. Here’s what is being said about Coach Williams.

CHAPEL HILL (AP) — North Carolina coach Roy Williams suffered a cut to his scalp Friday when he tripped over a cord in his office and hit his head on a wall.

Williams, whose top-ranked Tar Heels face North Carolina State on Saturday, was scheduled to hold a news conference Friday afternoon. But team spokesman Steve Kirschner said Williams would not be able to attend and was being treated by medical personnel.

“He was on his feet unaided, but he was bleeding from a scalp injury,” Kirschner said.

Williams was a guest on the Jim Rome radio show on Wednesday of this week and Romey had nothing but good things to say about Roy.

Williams told Rome that the four coaches he admired the most were Dean Smith, John Wooden, Bobby Knight, and Eddie Sutton in that order. Rome was shocked about the Knight comment but Rome really liked the interview because he was playing parts of back again on his Thursday show.
