6th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day NC Scholastic Classic

The Greensboro Coliseum will host the 6th Annual MLK Day North Carolina Scholastic Classic on Monday, January 21 beginning at 12:00 p.m. Top area high school and prep teams will bring the best in amateur hoops for a five-game holiday hoops extravaganza!
Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com and via Ticketmaster’s Charge-By-Phone Network at 336-852-1100 in Greensboro or 336-722-6400 in Winston-Salem, at Ticketmaster retail ticket center locations including the FYE and Macy’s stores in Greensboro and at the Coliseum advance box office. Tickets are $10.00 and seating is general admission.

Want to get an early look at the future collegiate and professional stars of tomorrow? The N.C. Scholastic Classic will feature a host of Division I basketball prospects including the Plumlee brothers (Mason, Miles and Marshall) of Christ School, Bruce Woodall and Jay Lewis of Greensboro Day, Northern Guilford’s Jonathan Frye and Jacob Lawson, point guard Brandon Jennings of Oak Hill and Page’s Julius Brooks.

Oak Hill will enter the N.C. Scholastic Classic as the top-ranked team in the country in the ESPN High Elite 25 preseason high school boys basketball rankings, as well as in USA Today’s Super 25.

In its first year (2003), the North Carolina Scholastic Classic brought future NBA superstar LeBron James to the Triad, drawing a crowd of 16,220, a North Carolina state record for a high school basketball game.”
