Got word today that former East Carolina football player and High Point Andrews coach and Athletic Director John Cazazza has joined the staff at Winston-Salem Reynolds as an assistant football coach. Cazazza has retired from teaching but he will hit the field again as a football coach. Cazazza was coaching at Andrews while his son was the quarterback at Ragsdale.

Jim Modlin sent us this information and Jim also passed along that all high school sports activities that were scheduled for this evening(January 21, 2008) have postponed. No hoops tonight. Dudley, Ragsdale, Western Guilford, Northern Guilford, Southeast Guilford, Southern Guilford….All of these schools were set to play, but all games are postponed for tonight.

If Jim has more details on the John Cazazza deal to WS Reynolds he will share them with us in the comment box. Everything up top that I wrote was from memory and I must be a stinkin’ genius to remember everything I do. There is no doubt, God has blessed me with total recall. It is an ability that few people have and it won’t make you a ton of money but it helps when you need to relate information. The only other person that I have met over the years that posessed anywhere near this same quality was the now-deceased Dr. Jerry Falwell of Lynchburg, Virginia. He and I once spoke about this and the correlation between me and Dr. Falwell was mind boggling. Dr. Falwell was shocked just after having the one conversation with me. I’m a stinkin’ genius, no not really, I just remember everything I hear and the name of every person I meet.

Here’s the original cut from Jim that came in earlier today:
I SAW AN OLD FRIEND OF MINE AT CHURCH SATURDAY, JOHN CAZZAZA. WE TALKED ABOUT THE GOOD OLD DAYS AT E.C.U.-JOHN PLAYED Q.B. THERE IN THE EARLY 70’S-HAVING COACHED IN THE AREA FOR YEARS, AS WELL AS ATHLETIC DIRECTING, HE HAD JUST RECENTLY RETIRED-WELL, HE’S COMING OUT OF RETIREMENT TO GET BACK INTO COACHING AND TEACHING. JOHN WILL BE AT R.J. REYNOLDS AS AN ASSSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH STARTING IN LATE JANUARY. I WOULD GUESS HE WOULD BE WORKING WITH THE QUARTERBACKS OR SOME ASPECT OF THE REYNOLDS OFFENSE. GOOD LUCK TO JOHN AND THE R.J. REYNOLDS TEAM!
*****Thanks again to Jim for sending that along to us and also thanks to my mid-wife that delivered me as a young child, Mrs. Metta Jones, the wife by marriage of Mr. Jabe Jones*****
