High School Basketball polls for Guilford County

There has been limited high school basketball action this week because of the weather and last night I needed a fix so I headed down to the Pleasant Garden Gym. After writing about the hoops all week you have to get back into it and watch the roundball going up and down the court.

Tiger Miller’s team grabbed another win for coach Luke Stewart, the former QB at Southeast Guilford. Mr. Venable runs the league and some people even call him Don, but not many, because of the respect that they have for this man that has kept youth basketball going and growing in Pleasant Garden. We will call him Mr. Venable.

I also spoke briefly with Luke’s dad, Al Stewart, and they said Luke was headed to East Carolina or maybe Davidson. They hope Davidson because Luke is looking at pre-med studies. If we could have Luke’s mind and my hard-nosed/hard-hitting attitude then he would be QB’ing the Giants to a win over the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Luke is a smart kid and Tiger Miller and the other guys are lucky to have him and Mr. Venable as coaches.
