Metal Detectors In Forsyth County Athletic Events

This past week, the Forsyth County began using Metal Detectors at selected athletic events. The reason: a student was assaulted outside a Forsyth athletic event.

Let me get this straight. Robbers, Thieves and Gangs now know that everybody leaving a Forsyth County Athletic event is unarmed.

Was there any evidence that crime at these events warranted the Metal Detectors?
Is there an increase in security or lighting in the parking lots?

Good citizens are not normally armed, especially when they know that carrying a weapon on school property is a felony. So the problem is with the BAD GUYS, metal detectors are not going to weed them out – additional police/sheriff/security staffing will do that.
