Baseball Splits at Huntingdon 0-4 and 13-1

Montgomery, Ala. — Greensboro College split a doubleheader at Huntingdon College on Sunday. The Hawks won the first game 4-0 and The Pride took the nightcap 13-1.

-Game One: Huntingdon 4, Greensboro 0

Brent Nichols and Josh Suchocki combined for a no-hitter for the Hawks. Nichols started and pitched the first 5 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 6. Suchocki hurled the last 2 frames and fanned 3 and walked one.

The Pride’s Kit Mock threw a solid 6 innings of the 7 inning game. He struck out 4 and 3 HC batters reached on base on balls.

-Game One: Huntingdon 4, Greensboro 0

GC turned the tables in game two and pounded out 12 hits against 4 HC pitchers. The Pride scored 6 innings in the second inning to break open the game.

Travis Brewer went 4-4 with a double, 2 runs and 3 RBI for GC. Dan Poindexter was 2-3 with a home run, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Vince Grasso hit 2-4 with a run and a RBI.

Jordan Dorsett improved to 2-0 for The Pride. He allowed 3 hits and a run in 5 innings. J.R. Pike and Nevin Fulcher pitched scoreless 6th and 7th innings for Greensboro.
