WFU’s Jeff Teague named best rookie in the league

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest’s Jeff Teague has garnered ACC Rookie of the Week honors.

In earning the league’s rookie award for the third time this season, Teague averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds as the Deacons posted victories over Florida State and No. 2 Duke. In Thursday’s 78-70 win in Tallahassee, the Indianapolis, Ind., freshman scored 18 points and handed out six assists. In Sunday’s 86-73 win over the Blue Devils, Teague made seven-of-15 from the floor, including three-for-three from behind the arc, nine-of-13 from the free throw line en route to a game-high 26 points.
