Greensboro Mens Basketball falls to Shenandoah

Greensboro, NC — The Greensboro College men’s basketball team couldn’t regroup from a lopsided loss to Christopher Newport on Friday night as they fell today to Shenandoah 72-66.

The loss dropped The Pride to 5-7 in conference play and 11-14 overall. The sixth-seeded Pride will play its first round conference tournament game on the road next Tuesday at Shenandoah.Shenandoah improved to 16-9, 6-6 in conference and likely will host a first-round tournament game.

Senior guard Adam Nicholson led The Pride with 25 points on 9-13 shooting. R.J. Smith added 18 points. He shot 7-11 from the field and hit four 3-pointers. The Pride shot well from the field (48.0%) but couldn’t overcome the one-two punch of Onyie Onunaku and Jeremiah Lawrence, who scored 18 and 16 points respectively.

The win with the 100th victory for eight year SU Head Coach Rob Harris.
