Greensboro Womens Basketball Earns Total of 4 USA South Basketball Honors

Pride Women Earn Four USAS Honors; Tuggle Again Coach of Year and Eccles First Team

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for women’s basketball. A total of 26 student-athletes have been named to the USA South All-Conference teams for women’s basketball.

Greensboro College’s Jason Tuggle has been named the Coach of the Year. Tuggle, in his sixth year as the head coach of The Pride, led Greensboro to the program’s third regular season crown in the last four years. The Pride finished the regular season with eight-consecutive wins, all against Conference competition. Greensboro concluded the regular season with an overall record of 18-7 and a 15-3 mark in the USA South. This is Tuggle’s third coach of the year honor in the last four years and his fourth in
six seasons.

The Pride also placed Dione Eccles on the all conference first team. Freshman Danielle Duncan earned USAS second team recognition.

Eccles is averaging 18.7 points and 6.2 rebounds. She also has a team best 65 steals. Duncan is scoring 17.1 points and 9.7 rebounds. She has posted 8 double-doubles for GC this season.

The Pride’s Katie Freeman was named to the all sportsmanship team.
