The ACC today and tonight

Jason Rich scored 21 points Wednesday night to help Florida State(17-12/6-8) beat North Carolina State 72-62.

Trevor Ferguson had a career-high 17 points to lead the Wolfpack, who continued their late-season freefall. N.C. State (15-13, 4-10) has lost six straight games to slip to the bottom of the league standings after being picked in the preseason to finish third.
*****Jim Young of the News and Record pretty much let the horse out of the barn when he mentioned that when Trevor Ferguson and Tracy Smith are your leading scorers then you know you are in trouble. I was thinking the same thing when I was listening to the game last night.*****

Gerald Henderson and DeMarcus Nelson both scored 15 points and No. 7 Duke beat Georgia Tech 71-58 on Wednesday night to move into a first-place tie in the Atlantic Coast Conference with rival North Carolina.

Kyle Singler added 13 points and Greg Paulus had 11 to help the Blue Devils (24-3, 11-2) improve to 15-0 at Cameron Indoor Stadium this season and win their second straight since a two-game losing streak on the road.*****Bruce Mitchell says the Blue Devils will beat North Carolina when the Heels come to Cameron, wait a dog-gone minute, the Devils already beat the Heels in Chapel Hill.*****

  1. If the hottest team in the league gets knocked off, but SometimesGreensborosports.com fails to report it, does it count?

  2. We aim, not to please but we do aim…..

K.C. Rivers scored 19 points and Clemson rallied back to beat Miami 79-69 after squandering all of a 21-point lead Wednesday night.

The Tigers (20-7, 8-5 Atlantic Coast Conference) won 20 games for the second straight year and, “guaranteed themselves a nonlosing ACC record for the first time in 11 years”.

  3. Not true, with three games left, plus the tourny, Clemson has four more chances to lose ACC games, thus bring their conference record to a posible 9-8 in ACC affairs. Your call on that one could be as premature as your call of NC State going to the NIT.
