HS hoops polls getting smaller

The season is running out on us and the polls are growing smaller and this week we will make a focus five poll for the boys and girls and we will also update the sectional playoffs in another article. Here’s this week’s lineup:

Boys:
#1)Greensboro Day(30-4) Season complete, lost in the NCISAA 3-A finals to Christ School.
#2)Dudley(26-2) Topped NEG in the Triad 3-A finals have beaten Gray’s Creek and Oxford Webb in the first two rounds of the sectionals and play Southern Lee in the sectional final tonight at Dudley.
#3)Grimsley(23-4) Lost to Page in the Metro title game but have beaten Fayetteville Byrd and Charlotte Garinger in the sectionals this week and now face Mount Tabor in the sectional final at Grimsley this evening.
#4)Ragsdale(23-5) Defeated Porter Ridge in round one of the sectionals, lost to Glenn 78-64 last night in the semis, season complete.
#5)Page(18-11) Won the big Metro 4-A final over Grimsley and then knocked off West Forsyth Tuesday and Watauga last night 56-49 and now host North Mecklenburg this evening.

High Point Andrews(20-7) Lost to Trinity 57-37.
Northeast Guilford(19-9) Lost to Southern Lee 77-72.
Northern Guilford(19-9) Lost to Rocky Mount 81-74.
Eastern Guilford(16-12) Lost to Pittsboro Northwood 69-62.

Girls:
#1)Grimsley(28-0) The Whirlies topped Fayetteville Byrd on Monday and South Caldwell on Wednesday with ease and now host Concord Robinson in the sectional final tonight.
#2)Ragsdale(24-3) Defeated Southeast Guilford for the Mid-Piedmont 3-A title, and then proceeded to beat South Rowan and Glenn and now host Statesville in the 3-A Sectional 1 finals tonight.
#3)Southeast Guilford(23-5) Lost to Ragsdale but bounced back to stop Hickory Ridge on Monday and Southwest Guilford 55-45 on Wednesdy and now travel to face Concord in the finals tonight.
#4)Page(21-6) Dropped the Metro to Grimsley then topped North Forsyth 51-42 on Monday but lost to McDowell 61-46 on Wednesday and seaon is over.
#5)TIE Eastern Guilford(21-6) and Dudley(20-6) EG had the huge upset at Northwest Halifax winning 63-61 on Wednesdy after stopping Goldsboro in double-overtime on Monday and now the Wildcats travel to meet Graham for the sectional crown tonight. Dudley crushed Triton 76-30 on Monday and then pulled off the 57-56 upset at Rocky Mount on Wednesady and now host Southwest Edgecombe in the sectional finals tonight.

Northeast Guilford(21-8) Lost to Eastern Alamance 37-32.
Northwest Guilford(18-8) Lost to to Morganton Freedom 63-55.
High Point Wesleyan(25-8) Lost to Charlotte Providence in the NCISAA 3-A tournamenet semifinals.

  1. If Page plays to there fullest potential, the sky is the limit for the Pirates, we definitely have the talent, just not much experience. This year WILL/HAS build confidence for a team that will be LOADED next year. Watch out.

    On a side note, if the Pirates beat North Meck tonight, I think ill have to poop my pants.
