We lost almost all of our Guilford County teams last night but we do have two HS schools with teams that will suit up for Regional action next week.

Last night we lost the Page and Grimsley boys. Grimsley falls to Mount Tabor 69-64 after leading by one at the half and Page gets taken out by North Mecklenburg 71-55. JB Beloved had 20, Keith Manley 15, David Dupont 13, Jonathan Leonard 11, and Christian Tonkins 7 for Grimsley. Michael McIntyre had 13, Luqman Tijani 12, AJ Finney 8, Desmond McCrae 6, and Julius Brooks and Jon Spain had 4 each for Page.

On the girl’s side of things Eastern Guilford met a very tough Graham Red Devil squad and the Wildcats season is now over after Graham out-scores EG 28-7 in the first period to move on to a 90-69 win over EG. Lashonda Anderson had 32 and Miranda Jenkins 19 for Eastern. Ragsdale and Southeast both found the going rough at the sectional finals with SEG losing on the road to Concord 66-58 and Ragsdale falls at home to Statesville 55-51. Courtney Arrington had 15 plus Meghan Ingram and Lisa Archie had 11 each for Ragsdale. SEG was led by Jazz Gibbs with 18 and Amy Beasley with 12 points.

Our winners were the unbeaten Grimsley girls stopping JB Robinson of Concord 59-47. The Grimsley girls are now (29-0) and they will be in Winston-Salem next week. Grimsley(29-0) vs. West Charlotte(27-2) Tuesday at 8:30pm. Kristen Fields had 19, Trumae Lucas 18, Amber Cook 10, and Jasmine Alston 6 for the Whirlies. The Dudley boys handled Sothern Lee 80-67 with PJ Hairston 21 and Marcus Heath 20pts. leading the Panther efforts and the Dudley girls rolled behind Helen Terry’s 19 points to whip SW Edgecombe 57-33.

The Dudley(27-2) boys will face Greenville Conley(24-3) on Tuesday in Greenville, N.C. at 8:30pm. The Dudley girls(22-7) meet Winterville South Central(28-0) Friday at 7pm.

Both Dudley teams and the Grimsley girls are in the Regionals this week.
