Greensboro Mens Baseball 3, Lynchburg 1

Greensboro, N.C. — Daniel Poindexter doubled home two runners in the third inning as Greensboro College (13-7) defeated Lynchburg College, 3-1, at War Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

Kyle Bolick and Anthony Corona hit back-to-back singles prior to Poindexter’s two-base hit.

The Pride tacked on another run in the fifth. Alex Guerra singled and moved one base on a sac bunt by Bolick. He came home from second after Corona reached on error by the pitcher.

Seven GC pitcher took the mound. Alex Phetteplace (1-0) was the pitcher of record in the third when GC took the lead and earned the win. Greg Allen tossed the ninth inning and got his first save.

Lynchburg (9-6) scored its run off Allen in their final at-bat. Ronnie LaBrie singled home Ryan Litz who had doubled. With the winning run at the plate Allen got LaBrie on a force play for the game’s final out.
