Quarterback/Coach new assistant principal at Grimsley

Steve Hodgin the former quarterback of the Sumner/Southern Guilford Indians and former Western Carolina Catamounts head football coach is now the new assistant principal at Greensboro’s Grimsley High School.

Steve QB’ed Sumner/Southern back in the late 60’s/early 70’s and later became the quarterback for coach Bob Waters at Western Carolina. Steve Hodgin then became an assistant to Waters and later became the man that replaced the legendary Bob Waters as head WCU football coach when Waters died from ALS. As you can see, Hodgin knows a thing or two about football.

Steve Hodgin was the principal for several years at Southern Guilford and later was an assistant principal at Eastern Guilford after the fire, and now he steps in to help out at Grimsley. As I mentioned earlier, Hodgin knows a thing or two about football and he also knows a thing or two about discipline.

If any of the Grimsley kids want to try Mr. Hodgin, just remember, he was an SG Indian and he stills knows a thing or two about scalping and tomahawk tossing.

Kids I’m warning you:Beware of Steve Hodgin…..

  1. steve hodgin never played quarterback for coach bob waters. it is true that hodgin was hired by bob waters and went on to coach at wcu for a number of years. feel free to fact check that. i know this because my father is the late bob waters.
