Rocky Mount, N.C. — Greensboro College head coach Jason Tuggle led the USA South women to an 8 point win over the ODAC in the third USAS-ODAC Senior Challenge.
Women: USA South 82, ODAC 74
The USA South women turned around a slow start to take a six-point halftime lead, en route to a 82-74 win. That lead grew to 19 points in the second half before the ODAC All-Stars made a late run.
The USA South women were led by Mary Baldwin’s Jessica Carter who scored a team-high 18 points with a game-high six assists and three rebounds. The games lone double-double came from Ferrum’s Ali Davenport who scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Also scoring in double-figures for the USA South women was Christopher Newport’s Colandra Rollins, who tallied 16 points with eight rebounds.
For the ODAC All-Stars, Washington & Lee’s Kristin Krouchick led all scorers with a game-high 20 points with four rebounds and four steals. Virginia Wesleyan’s Heather Phillips was the only other ODAC woman in double-figure scoring with ten points while Bridgewater’s Jessica Timberlake and Randolph-Macon’s Nicole Childress shared the team-high rebound total of six.
The USAS leads the series 2-1.

Men: ODAC 112, USA South 105
GC’s Adam Nicholson and Bruce Zamuel compted in the men’s game. The ODAC won 112-105 and now leads the men’s series, 2-1.
Nicholson was second on the USAS team with 19 points. He was 7-23 from the field and had 7 rebounds in 35 minutes of play. Zamueld netted 14 points–the most of any USAS reserve–on 5-15 shooting in 25 minutes.
The ODAC men built an early first-quarter lead and took a ten-point advantage into halftime, en route to a 112-105 victory. The ODAC built a 14-point third quarter lead which was cut to six heading to the final quarter. The USA South All-Stars climbed to within four in the final stanza before the ODAC pulled away for the seven-point win. The ODAC was led by Virginia Wesleyan’s TonTon Balenga who scored a game-high 27 points with eight rebounds, three assists and one steal. The ODAC’s lone double-double came from Guilford’s Ben Strong who tallied 14 points and a team-high ten rebounds with a game-high seven blocks. For the USA South All-Stars, Methodist’s Billy McDade led the way with a team-high 21 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Shenandoah’s Jeremiah Lawrence also notched a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
