Greensboro Baseball 7, Ferrum 4

Ferrum, Va. — Jordan Dorsett pitched 7 strong innings as Greensboro College defeated Ferrum, 7-4, in a USA South game on Monday night.

GC earned a rare sweep of the Panthers, a team that led the season series 30-8 entering this year.

Dorsett (4-2) allowed 9 hits, 2 runs, struck out 4 and walked 2. Torrey Poholsky pitched the last 1 1/3 innings and earned his fourth save of the year.

Dan Poindexter, Jacob Tomb and Tyler O’Neill all had 2 hits for The Pride.

GC scored 3 runs in the first inning and never trailed in the game. The visitors plated 3 more in the fourth and one in the ninth.

Nick Baker went 4-5 with a triple to lead Ferrum (5-8, 2-4). For the second straight day FC out hit GC. Ferrum had 15 hits to 11 for The Pride.
