SSR:Spring sports report

There were only two games on the baseball slate from Monday to report on and one was not a shocker but the other one was.

Southeast Guilford handled Trinity, no problem, 10-0. The Falcons are flying high again after Saturday’s loss to Glenn. SEG(6-1) was led by Cam Cockman, who no-hit the Bulldogs and Cam came through with 2 hits and 2RBI’s. On the mound Cockman struck out 12 through 5 innings and only walked two Bulldog batters. Josh Tobias went 3-4 and is still hitting right at .500, while Austin Moyer regained his eye with a two-run homer and C/1B/3B Jeff Medley had another strong day for SEG with 2RBI’s after going 2-3 at the plate. The SEG JV’s did not have the same luck as the Varsity on St. Patrick’s Day. The JV’s(5-2) left the tying runs at second and third in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings and lost to the Trinity Bulldogs.

The other game of the day on Monday saw High Point Central take advantage of several costly High Point Christian errors and the Black Bison beat the Cougars 6-3. We thought that HP Christian would take HP Central but Central pulls off the BIG upset.
