Greensboro Softball: GC Invite, Burlington, N.C.

GC 7, Emory 4
The fourth time was the charm for Greensboro College as they defeated Emory, 7-4, at Springwood Park on Saturday. GC had to come from behind to get the win in its fourth game against the Eagles.

Trailing 4-1 GC put up 4 runs in the 6th inning and added 2 more in the 7th for the final margin. Three of GC’s 4 runs in the sixth were unearned.

Winning pitcher Olivia McPherson (1-3) also went 2-3 with a run and an RBI to lead the GC offense. McPherson took over for starter Erin Jolly and tossed the last 6 1/3 innings. She allowed 4 hits and one earned run. For Emory, Caitlin Fitzgerald went 2-3 with a run and 2 RBI and Ashley Tobar took the loss despiter throwing 7 strikeouts.

LC 6, GC 4
Lynchburg rallied for a 6-4 in the last game at the GC Invitational. The Hornets scored 2 times in the 8th inning with the International tie breaker in place.

Meagan Knight went 3-4 with a double, 2 runs and an RBI and Jessica Clack added 2 hits for GC. Erica Brown (5-3) suffered the defeat for The Pride.

Brittany Allsop was 2-5 with a run and Barbara Miles got the win for LC. Both Miles and Brown hurled the entire game.
