Greensboro Baseball 9, Guilford 2

Greensboro, N.C. — Jeff Guerrie went 2-3 with a home run and a double to lead Greensboro College (19-10) to a 9-2 win over Guilford at NewBridge Bank Park. Guilford is now 12-14.

Anthony Corona was 2-3 with a homer and 3 RBI for The Pride. He now has 6 home runs on the year and 4 against Guilford. (He hit 3 in the Feb. 5 game at McBane Field.)

Greensboro put 4 runs on the board off of loser Alex Pecevich (0-1) in the third inning, which included Corona’s long ball. Nevin Fulcher (1-0) was the pitcher of record and got the win.

The Pride put 4 more runs across in the fifth frame, including Guerrie’s homer.

Alex Guerra also had 2 hits for Greensboro. A total of 8 Pride pitcher allowed 6 Quaker hits in the contest. Drew Ward was 1-2 and scored twice for Guilford.

The Pride swept the 2-game series and is unbeaten in its 3 games over the past 3 years at the minor league park. GC
now leads the all-time series vs. the Quakers 18-16.
