Hutchins, a 5-8 midfielder, scored three goals and made four assists for a season-high seven points in the Quakers’ 18-6 nonconference victory over cross-town rival Greensboro College March 18. She scored a goal and had three of her game-high four assists in the opening period as Guilford had a 12-4 lead at halftime. Hutchins also scooped up two ground balls and had a game-high seven draw controls. Her seven draw controls made her Guilford’s career leader in the category with 120.

Hutchins has started all six games for the Quakers this season and leads the team with 22 points off of nine goals and 13 assists. She has seven goals, seven assists and 15 draw controls in the three Guilford victories. Hutchins leads the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in assists (2.17 apg.), ranks fifth in draw controls per game (3.00) and is eighth in the league in points per game (3.67).

Coach Matthew Grosso’s Quakers (3-3, 1-0 ODAC) take a three-game winning streak into Wednesday’s (3/26) home game with nonconference foe Methodist University at 6:00 p.m.

The Student-Athlete of the Week Award is presented by Guilford’s SAAC, which is comprised of representatives from each of the school’s 16 varsity teams. The group meets regularly to discuss the state of Guilford Athletics and seeks to build community among the school’s student-athletes and non-student-athletes. Recent Guilford SAAC activities include a breast cancer awareness promotion, canned-food drives, volunteer assistance with the North Carolina Special Olympics and tutoring at New Garden Friends School.
