More on Moore:Clint Moore named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Following one of the most prolific offensive weeks in program history, Army saw two of its players rewarded for their slugging efforts on Monday when Cole White was named Patriot League Player of the Week and Clint Moore was tabbed as the conference’s rookie of the week.

Moore registered very impressive numbers for the Army Black Knights last week, batting .429 (9-21) with three doubles, two home runs, six runs scored and 10 runs batted in for the week. He recorded a .500 on-base percentage and an .857 slugging percentage. Army’s freshman starting shortstop collected multiple hits in all four contests and scored at least one run in all four games.

The native of Greensboro, N.C. (Grimsley H.S.), smacked a season-high three hits during Army’s spring-trip finale, a 12-1 pounding of Central Connecticut on Saturday. Earlier in the week, he smashed his first two collegiate home runs in 19-18 loss to Dartmouth. Moore also drove in a season-best three runs on two occasions last week.

Army, which stands at 5-12 overall, returns to action on Tuesday when they open their home slate against Quinnipiac in a non-league contest. First pitch at Doubleday Field is scheduled for 3 p.m. Real-time statistics for all Army home games are available on the Black Knights’ official Web site at www.goARMYsports.com via GameWatcher.
