Greensboro Mens Lacross: H-SC 15, GC 7

Greensboro, N.C. — Doug Carpenter netted 4 goals as visiting Hampden-Sydney (4-4) defeated Greensboro College, 15-7, at Pride Field on Wednesday.

Jose Rodriguez scored twice and Nick Patrone scored and assited once for The Pride (2-8).

The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but GC rallied in the first quarter. Andrew Reidenbacker tallied off an an assist from Neal McKinney with 4:51 in the period. Patrone assisted Brian Butterwoth at the 3:09 mark to put the score at 3-2.

H-SC then tallied the next score and led 4-2 after one quarter. The Tigers outscored the home team 4-0 and were ahead 8-2 at halftime. The Pride was outscored 3-1 in the third and both clubs potted 4 goals in the final 15 minutes.

Mike Foderaro had 11 saves for Greensboro while Phil Hage stopped 10 shots for H-SC.

The visitors won 15-25 face-offs. H-SC had 39 ground balls to 31 for GC. The Pride, however, had the lead in shots, 34-31.
