Golf – Guilford’s golf team placed seventh place among 15 teams at the Emory Spring Invitational Tuesday. The Quakers shot 618, one stroke behind sixth-place Rhodes. Baseball – The Quakers’ baseball team split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader with visiting Eastern Mennonite University Sunday. The Royals held on for a 4-3 win in the opener, despite six strikeouts by Guilford pitcher Ryan Hairston. Jay Cox’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Guilford to a 9-8 win in the nightcap. Paul Keenan earned the pitching victory and Phil Drew homered for Guilford. Women’s Tennis – Guilford’s women’s tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Roanoke College Sunday. The Quakers ended a four-match losing skid Friday with a 6-3 win over visiting Greensboro College. The Quakers took five-of-six singles contests, including Mayton’s straight-set win in her second-singles debut. Lia and Jami Williams were both two-time winners for Guilford versus the Pride. Men’s Tennis – Guilford’s men’s tennis team scored a 6-1 win over league-rival Emory & Henry College Sunday in a match rescheduled from February. Saturday’s men’s tennis match with Greensboro College was postponed due to rain.

Women’s Lacrosse – Sunday’s women’s lacrosse match the University of Mary Washington was cancelled due to rain.

The Quakers upended host Randolph-Macon College, 13-12, Saturday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match. Mary Hutchins scored four of her game- and season-high five goals in the second half for the Quakers. Jordan Clodfelter added four goals and an assist in the win. Softball – Sunday’s softball doubleheader at Randolph-Macon College was postponed until Wednesday, April 9, due to rain.

The Quakers split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at Sweet Briar College. Despite a Charissa Duncan home run, Sweet Briar rallied for a 3-2 win in the opener. The Quakers took a 14-1 win in the nightcap in five innings. Kelly Hale became the school record holder for home runs in a season and career when she left the yard in the fourth inning with a two-run shot. Duncan also homered in the win. Guilford’s Samantha Golley won the Quakers’ first ODAC Softball Player of the Week Award since 2005 Monday. The rookie pitcher went 2-0 with a 0.70 earned run average in the Quakers’ 3-1 week and also extended her hitting streak to a team-best 12 games. Men’s Lacrosse – Guilford fell at seventh-ranked Lynchburg College Saturday afternoon, 19-1. Tyler Zivic scored for the Quakers with less than four minutes in the game. Andrew Vigne made 15 saves and picked up a team-best four ground balls.
