Page vs. Grimsley on the radio on Saturday afternoon…..

It will be Page vs. Grimsley at NewBridge Bank Park on Saturday afternoon and we will have the game for you on the radio with the pre-game starting at 2pm.

The first pitch is scehduled for 2:30 and Grimsley (4-2) Metro 4-A will be the home team since the two clubs have already met once over at Page(2-4 Metro) and Grimlsey won that matchup with George Carter grabbing the win and DJ Russ collected the save on the hill for the Whirlies.

Page will counter on Saturday with the young man who took the loss in game one, Zach Kornblum, and the senior has thrown well for the Pirates all season long. Kornblum has struck out double-digit batters in three of his recent conference games and he is the man Page looks to, to keep them in the game. The Page defense behind Kornblum will also be a factor. Who will Grimsley send out there on Saturday?

George Carter came on in relief for Jon Wilkinson back on Tuesday against Northwest and Carter may still have something left or we may see Taylor Lee, DJ Russ, or even Kevin Rose and Lucas Wren is not out of the realm of possibility. They all might get a shot or we may see Carter start and then the bullpen would take over after four and a half or five innings depending on how things are going and it might be a follow-up of last time when Russ took over for Carter. This is something everybody can be talking about all night long tonight and prior to the game on Saturday.

This should make for a great game and the kids will have the opportunity to play on the big-time field that is the home surface for the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Class A affiliates for the Florida Marlins. The Dudley Panthers and the Smith Golden Eagles will meet in the second half of the Little Four Challenge at the conclusion of the Page-Grimsley hook-up. Smith and Dudley played on this same field last year in a Friday night solo show and Avery Hardy got the start for Smith and then when he got in trouble they went with LA Allen. Doug Sigmon hit one out of the stadium last year and Dudley went on to beat Smith by say four or five runs.

Remember Page vs. Grimsley on radio Saturday afternoon at 2pm with the pre-game on AM950 with Andy Durham and Jim Modlin.

You may need to go out and buy yourself a cheap transistor radio with earphones prior to the game and make sure the attendant sells you earphones and not ear plugs.
