Guilford’s women’s lacrosse team fell to visiting Randolph-Macon College Wednesday afternoon, 15-14, in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. Shelly Nogueira paced the Quakers with a game-high four goals. Guilford concludes its season with a 9-7 record, which matches the record for wins in a season. The Quakers’ men’s lacrosse team fell to visiting Greensboro College Wednesday night in a nonconference match.. Five different Quakers scored and goalie Andrew Vigne made 14 saves. Guilford’s baseball season officially ended Tuesday when the Quakers’ scheduled game with Ferrum College was cancelled because of impending rain. Guilford finished the year with a 17-22 overall record, a five-win improvement over 2007. Guilford’s softball team gained its second bid into the six-team, double-elimination ODAC Tournament Wednesday. The Quakers enter as the number-six seed and open play Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. versus third-seeded Eastern Mennonite at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va. The Quakers’ golf season likely ended Monday at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament in Amherst, Va. Guilford shot 929 over the 54 holes and finished in second place, 10 strokes behind league champion Washington and Lee. The Generals claimed the league’s automatic NCAA Championships bid. Guilford still has a slim chance at one of two at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament field.
