WEST POINT, N.Y. – Clint Moore has been one of the most consistent players in Army’s starting lineup throughout the season. On Monday, he was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second time this spring.

One of the top contenders to earn conference Rookie of the Year plaudits at season’s end, Moore became the second player to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors twice this season, when he was chosen Monday.

Helping Army to a series victory over defending Patriot League champion-Lafayette, Moore batted .571 with four runs scored and two runs batted in this past weekend. He registered three multiple-hit showings during the series and batted safely in all four contests. By winning three of four games against the Leopards, Army captured its third regular season Patriot League championship in five years and the top seed in next month’s conference tournament.

The Greensboro, N.C. (Grimsley H.S.), native posted a .625 on-base percentage during the four-game series, while stealing four bases in five attempts. He also handled 19 defensive chances flawlessly.

Moore collected four hits in six official plate appearances and drew two bases on balls to help Army clinch the regular season Patriot League title with a doubleheader sweep of Lafayette on Saturday. He added four hits in eight trips to the plate during Sunday’s twinbill.

Army’s starting shortstop heads the Black Knights with 20 multi-hit performances this season. He also stands second among club leaders with 10 multiple-RBI outings and heads the team with 13 stolen bases.

For the year, Moore is batting .356 with 10 doubles, two triples four home runs 37 runs scored and 31 runs batted in. He also leads the squad with 83 total bases.

Moore, who ranks among Patriot League leaders in almost every offensive category, stands fourth among conference batting leaders, fifth in base hits (57), tied for third in runs scored, tied for seventh in runs batted in, third in stolen bases, sixth in total bases, third in on-base percentage (.461) and sixth in slugging percentage (.519).

The slick-fielding newcomer ranks as one of three different Army freshmen to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Week laurels this spring.
