Eric Parmelee Signs With Guilford College Lacrosse

Guilford College head men’s lacrosse coach Andrew Rowe announced the intention of Eric Parmelee (Spencerport, N.Y.) to play lacrosse for the Quakers Tuesday. Parmelee has paid his deposit to the college and will enroll for classes in August.

A 5-10, 165-pound defender, Parmelee lettered twice under head coach Ryan Egan at Brockport High School. Entering tonight’s game at Victor, Parmelee had 12 ground balls and helped Brockport to a 7-4 overall record, 5-2 in the Monroe County-3. He played with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes High School National Team in 2007. When not studying or playing lacrosse at Brockport, Parmelee is active with student government and the environmental club. He considered the University of Southern Maine, the University of New Hampshire, the University of Massachusetts and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh before choosing Guilford. Parmelee intends to study geology.

Rowe, a 1999 graduate of Penfield (N.Y.) High School, recently concluded his fourth season as Guilford’s head coach. The Quakers finished with a 2-12 record, 0-6 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Quakers graduated eight seniors this year, including the team’s top defenseman, but are slated to return 21 letterwinners in 2009.
