On TV Tonight: Celts Road Woes May Prove Costly

The Boston Celtics will try and close out the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight (8pm, ESPN) in Cleveland and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. For the Celts, winning on the road in the playoffs has proven to be a tall order. After going 31-10 in the regular season, Boston is winless thus far in the playoffs, going 0-6. It has really been a tell of two teams, depending largerly on whether or not the Celts are playing at home or on the road. Boston has looked good at home and has played like the 66 win team they were in the regular season. On the road, the Celtics look bad, plain and simple.

It looks like the Celtics are headed for another seven game series and if you are a Boston fan, that has to make you uncomfortable. LeBron James has the talent to put Cleveland on his back in a Game Seven and sneak out of Boston with a win. If you avoid that, Detroit is waiting in the wings and this group of Pistons knows how to win on the road.

Doc Rivers and Boston’s new Big Three have to learn to win playoff road games fast or many of their lofty goals, like winning a 17th championship, will not be reached.

Tonight’s Game Prediction – Cleveland 109, Boston 91.
