The 7 on 7 scrimmages are under way at Grimsley’s Jamieson Stadium today and there looked to be at least seven or eight teams out on the field going at it in helmets, “T” shirts and shorts.
Dudley, Grimsley, Smith, HP Andrews, HP Central, WS Atkins, and others are running passing plays and playing pass defense. One coach told me that if Dudley doesn’t repeat as State Champions this year then he would be shocked.
I spoke briefly with Panther coach Steven Davis, Grimsley coach Mark Saunders, and Whirlie assistant Brandon Anderson. Both the Whirlies and Panthers were (2-0) when we talked.
They were hoping for a Dudley-Grimsley championship game at abut 2:30pm. Everything got started at 10am this morning.
