Former WCW commentator and ESPN radio announcer/host gets kill button for wanting Senator Kennedy assassinated…

from pwtorch.com:

Former WCW Nitro color commentator (and previously former PWTorch Newsletter columnist) Mark Madden was “permanently removed” from his highly-rated Pittsburgh-based ESPN radio show this week for making a controversial statement about Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Just days after Sen. Kennedy was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer, Madden said on live radio: “I’m very disappointed to hear Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts is near death because of a brain tumor. I always hoped Senator Kennedy would live long enough to be assassinated.”

Madden was taken off the air and suspended first, but a decision to “permanently remove him” was made at ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. headquarters.

  1. Passing through the pittsburgh area a few times and having the misfortune of being awake when Madden fhad ESPN mag show briefly, I expect this from Mark Madden.
He didn’t know when to stop on a lot of things.
I respect people with different viewpoints but he was ridiculous and it seemed like he just wanted to hurt people.
I don’t care what you think of someone, saying what he said was totally uncalled for.

  2. Madden was out of line. Sen. Kennedy has made some mistakes but he has also done a lot of good for people in this country. Madden would need to live two lifetimes to be half the man Ted Kennedy is today.
